Our "big travel" was to be the trip from the Netherlands to France via Maas/Meuse and Canal de l'Est. The trip includes passing from sea level 0 m via 360 m in the Vosges mountains, ending at 180 m in Burgundy, a total of 955 km, passing through 218 locks and several lifting bridges, 4 tunnels and via canal bridges crossing rivers.
However, due to various repairs and replacements we first had to go from Hardinxveld to Maasbracht. There was a heavy current and Maas carried a lot of water so it took somewhat longer than expected.
Finally, on March 25, we left Maasbracht and arrived in St-Symphorien-sur-Saône on April 15, however not without new technical "incidents and accidents".
